About
The Samurai Programme is a shiatsu and movement based programme for groups of children aged 6-12 years. This programme uses the foundations of shiatsu to create fun, touch based exercises and games that children can do together. The exercises are structured so that within a short period of time the children will be able to perform them independently.
The word Samauri is derived from the Japanese word "saberu" which means to serve or support. This programme follows two Japanese Samauri children, Koko and Hanako. They guide us through some exercises and games which promote health and wellbeing.
The benefits of the programme are:
• Helps children to improve their self-perception and self -efficacy
• Encourages slowness and mindfulness
• Improves body awareness, teaches how to let go of tension and become relaxed
• Respecting and maintaining boundaries
• Strengthening co-operation and improving social competence
• Promoting respectful interactions
The programme will give children the opportunity to connect with themselves and each other.
